I was actually impressed with the shot for a $199 phone! Yep, it’s only $199 (USD). Also, I just took photos and didn’t adjust any settings on the camera like brightness, lighting, etc. Note however that this was taken indoors, by the window, but it was a bit cloudy outside. I also tested out the camera and it was pretty decent. So you can write an email and maybe search for something in the web browser that you need to reference in your email. You can simultaneously use two apps in one screen. While I told you about the stylus earlier, being able to jot down notes or create artistic visuals, another great thing about this phone is the dual screen. While it has a 5.7″ HD IPS Display, it was only 258 ppi (720 x 1280). If you noticed the photos, the resolution is not that high. *Note that the photos showing the screen were at 50% brightness only. This is great when you’re reading private emails or logging into your bank accounts, other people next to you won’t be able to read/see it clearly. But when front and center, it looks brighter. Say if you were looking at it from the side, it looks darker. Comparing to other phones, say an iPhone, I like that from different angles, the brightness of the LG G Stylo changed. We linked it to our Google account and in a few seconds, it was ready to use. Opening the apps may take a little longer compared to iPhones or Samsung phones.īut off the bat, it was really easy to set up – took probably less than 5 minutes. UPDATE: After loading a handful of apps like navigation, games, radio/music, and lifestyle apps, we noticed how it’s slower (not a shock, considering the price) than higher-end/more expensive smart phones. Like I said, I literally got this phone a few hours ago. UPDATE: after over a month of using, everything is still in tact – no issues with durability. As far as durability goes, we shall see in the next few weeks to come. For a blogger like me, it’s easy to write down notes or write captions on photos too! Overall, I’d give the look 5 stars. I really love that this comes with a stylus. But I’m loving that you can simply knock on the screen to wake it up or turn the screen off. I’m still adjusting to the fact that the power button is on the back, below the camera. Off the bat, this looks like one stylish device perfect for the modern man. The LG G Stylo comes in a handsome metallic gray back. This can be inserted back into the right top side of the phone. As you can see, I have the stylus out as well. It came with the charger, battery ( already inserted in the phone) and a product guide ( didn’t notice I had taken the photo with the Spanish cover up, the English is on the other side). Note: we are not reviewing the mobile provider here, just the phone. Since this was a Walmart Family Mobile phone, it comes in the usual Family Mobile packaging. I know it’s been a while since I posted a cellphone or mobile phone review. I got excited and thought about writing a first impression post here immediately. I just received the new LG G Stylo smartphone as part of a sponsored campaign in another post.
